Former RHOA Star Phaedra Parks Reveals She Met Her New Actor Boyfriend Medina Islam on a Dating App

Phaedra Parks is sharing more details about her new man, actor Medina Islam, and she recently revealed their romance kicked off on a dating app.

The former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star couldn’t help gushing about Islam in a new interview with PEOPLE.

Parks told the outlet that although she knew the “Haves and the Have Nots” alum “from around town in Atlanta,” it was on a dating app that they finally met.

Islam, who reportedly once dated RHOA alum Claudia Jordan, is Parks’ second public beau

Back in July before Parks went public with her relationship, she revealed to DailyMailTV that her new man sought her out on the exclusive dating app Raya.

“He’s a really good guy,” the 45-year-old admitted in the more recent PEOPLE interview. She continued:

“He’s very calming and soothing and mild-mannered. I always dealt with the bad boys, and he’s very opposite from any guy I’ve ever dated. So that’s refreshing. …We’re right at six months now. It’s the perfect time, we’re still in the bubble. … It’s awesome!”

While Parks and Islam, 36, are basking in that familiar glow of new romance, the couple continues to deal with challenges of a long-distance relationship.

Islam lives in Los Angeles while Parks lives in Atlanta, and according to the reality star, "It’s hard doing the long distance."

“But we’ve been making it work!” Parks assured. “He’s an actor, so he’s New York quite a bit, and then he comes to Atlanta, and I get to L.A. to see him as well."

The reality star went public with her new love at the start of the week in a birthday tribute post for Islam. Parks shared a pic of Islam cuddling her from behind as they laughed together.

Further confirming the relationship, Islam also showed up in the comments section to say: "Thank u, My Beautiful Queen." At the time of writing this article, however, the actor is yet to post a picture of Parks to his Instagram account.

Islam, who reportedly once dated RHOA alum Claudia Jordan, is Parks’ second public beau since divorcing ex-husband Apollo Nida in 2017.

The mom-of-two was linked earlier this year to radio host Tone Kapone, but that did not last too long. Parks and Nida shares sons Ayden, nine, and Dylan, six.
