In late March of this year, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams gave birth to her daughter with Dennis McKinley, a baby girl called Pilar Jhena. Fast forward to 6 months later – and countless videos and photos of the child – and baby PJ is having her first taste of solids! And in true fashion, mommy Porsha recorded it all.

Porsha Williams was both nervous and excited when she found out that she was pregnant last year. “I’ve had a miscarriage before in my past, which I’ve also been open about because I suffer [from] fibroids and had to have a myomectomy,” she revealed to People. “So just the fear of, ‘Is the baby going to be okay? Will I make it full term?’ All those questions that you ask if you’ve had a miscarriage before.”

Hearing her baby’s heartbeat for the first time was special. “Going into the first appointment and being able to see baby and hear baby and know that baby is fine, then I [could] really wrap my mind around actually becoming a mommy,” she shared.

The “Dish Nation” co-host carried her baby to term and gave birth to baby Pilar Jhena on March 22 via cesarean section. “A lot of people think that C-sections are easy – an easier way to give birth. But I assure you, it is full, serious surgery,” Williams disclosed to People. “Even recovery – healing from the cut and taking care of a newborn while being on pain medication and dealing with your body’s shock of having just had a baby.”

As Porsha recovered from her surgery and started adjusting to life with a newborn, she faced another challenge, which she called “the hardest part” of new motherhood. Before she gave birth, the reality star was okay with giving her baby formula if she was not able to breastfeed. But that all changed when she held her baby in her arms.

“You want to give her the world,” admitted Porsha. “You want her to have everything that’s the best for her. So it was really difficult for me to come to the realization that I couldn’t pump enough milk for her.” This nearly sent the new mom into postpartum depression.

“I just had to come to terms and be okay with it that I wasn’t able to breastfeed,” Porsha revealed. “My fiancé was very supportive, some of my friends were very supportive – they just reminded me that it’s okay. You still are a great mommy and you still love her as much as anybody can love her child.”

6 months down the line, and PJ is doing well. With an Instagram account dedicated to her, fans have been able to see the baby grow right before their eyes. When she hit the 6-month mark, it was time for another milestone in Pilar’s life.

“Pilar’s first bite!” Proud mom Porsha captioned the post that showed two videos of Pilar having her very first bite. And what a flavorful bite it was. “She ate mango, carrots, coconut cream,” wrote Porsha. Pilar’s first bite was given by daddy McKinley, who seems to be back together with Porsha.

BREAK UP TO MAKE UP

In June of this year, E! News first reported that Porsha and Dennis had called off their engagement months after the birth of their child. Fans sensed something was amiss when the “RHOA” star unfollowed her fiancé. There were also rumors that Dennis had been unfaithful and had a dalliance with “WAGS: Atlanta” star Sincerely Ward.

Dennis denied the allegations and even claimed that he was taking legal action. But just a month later, the couple was back together and Porsha was once more seen wearing her engagement ring. “We’re taking it one day at a time,” the 38-year-old revealed on “Dish Nation.”
