In an exclusive report shared by PEOPLE, Amy, who is best described as the niece of famous reality stars, Jim Bob and Michelle, delivered baby Daxton on Wednesday, October 9.

Daxton, who will be Amy and husband Dillon King's very first child together, was delivered via cesarean section. He was born weighing seven lbs., eight oz., and measured 20 inches. Loren Bullard, who had the honor of taking photographs for the new parents, told PEOPLE,

"Smooth and easy delivery. Both mom and baby are great and healthy!"

It is a dream come true for Amy, 32, who had formerly expressed a longing to be a "boy mom." She and Dillon first announced they were expecting a child in April before making the exciting update that their unborn child is male in June.

Unlike most celeb couples are known to do, the pair chose to share their journey, becoming new parents with the public. Not only did they reveal the sex of their unborn child, but they also shared that his name will be Daxton Ryan and why they chose to name him so.

That is perhaps because of the couple's excitement becoming first-time parents. The couple said to PEOPLE,

"We are completely speechless, overly excited, and ready for the next chapter as new parents!"

Late last year, the new parents, who had been close-knit friends before tying the knot in 2015, had explained that they have "been practicing" for when the kids come.

While the couple also honestly admitted that they were nervous, they labeled the task one that is "astonishing" and one they can "hardly wait" to experience.
