Miguel Cervantes: Chicago 'Hamilton' Star's Daughter Adelaide Dies at 3 Years Old

"Hamilton" star Miguel Cervantes and his wife, Kelly, are in a great grief as their three-year-old daughter, Adelaide, passed away over the weekend from a brutal form of epilepsy.

Miguel's wife shared a heartbreaking picture of her daughter's empty bed on Instagram with a caption announcing the sad news of Adelaide's death.

She wrote,

"The machines are off. Her bed is empty. The quiet is deafening."

The grieving mother continued the lengthy and heartwarming message,

"Adelaide left us early Saturday. She went peacefully in my arms, surrounded by love. Finally, she is free from pain + seizures but leaves our hearts shattered. We love you so much Adelaideybug and forever after."

Fans of the couple were swift to send their condolences to the Cervantes family during this hard time.

"I would like to hug you, this is hard and sad, but now she is free of pain. Sending my love to you and your family." wrote a hurt fan. Another person wrote,

"My condolences, may you find strength in the love and memories of your sweet daughter during this difficult time."

A third person wrote,

"God bless you all and Adelaide. I am so heartbroken to read about this. She is with the lord now, he is holding her and filling her with his love right now."

The "Hamilton" star also shared his wife's post and wrote,

"We are comforted knowing there are so many people sending positive vibes. We are seeing all of it ... We will be celebrating her life and legacy soon."

Then he added he, Kelly and their son Jackson, are "doing Ok." A day before her daughter's death, Kelly told PEOPLE a little bit about Adelaide. She said,

"Oh, she was feisty as hell, She is a warrior. I have never met someone stronger in my life. She shared her opinions in her own way. She came into the world and she had a mission and a story. I'm so proud that no one will ever forget her."

Kelly also revealed that her older son Jackson was always there to protect his baby sister. "He is what keeps me strong," Kelly told PEOPLE. "He runs around the house and brings an energy that we need."

The clearly heartbroken mother continued by stating that their son is their strength during this period, and he is the one who gets them out of bed and on their feet.

Miguel also revealed that he will be taking a short break from the Hamilton show. May Adelaide's soul rest in peace.
