Prince Harry Gets Emotional as He Recalls When Wife Meghan Was Pregnant and No One Else Knew

A video of Prince Harry breaking into tears while making a speech is fast going viral. The heartwarming moment comes as he touches on the subject of how he and his wife had kept expecting baby Archie a secret.

The Prince was called upon to deliver a speech at the recently-held WellChild Awards event about seriously ill children. The address, however, meant much more for the Royal as he had only recently welcomed a son with his former actress wife, Meghan Markle.

It was while on stage that Harry broke down into tears as he tried to relate what he and Markle were feeling as first-time parents-to-be.

The 35-year-old could barely contain his emotions as he briefly shared that he and Markle had chosen to keep their being pregnant a secret when they last attended the annual occasion.

He said:

"Last year, when my wife and I attended, we knew we were expecting our first child — no one else did at the time, but we did — and I remember…"

It was at that moment that Prince Harry halted his words while crouching low to hide his teary face. Still bent, the royal collected himself and his emotions as the crowd applauded him to show support.

He continued the speech recalling that he had held tightly onto Markle while they both thought of what it would be like to be the parents of a child who was born with immediate health challenges or who suffered illness over time.

Harry emotionally told the crowd on Tuesday night:

"Now, as parents, being here and speaking to all of you pulls at my heartstrings in a way I could have never understood until I had a child of my own."

The emotional speech proves reports of how Prince Harry and Markle are "a unit" and have learned to "lean on each other." The pair, who tied the knot in 2018, are the proud parents of son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, who is seventh in line to the throne.
