THE FIRST TIME THEY MET

The pair crossed paths at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006, but they only started dating six years later because he was still married to his first wife.

Brandon's father, Narvel Blackstock, is Kelly's manager. Narvel reintroduced his son to Kelly after Brandon's divorce.

Their romance kicked off at Superbowl XLVI in 2012, where she performed the national anthem.

Their first date took place on February 11, 2012, the day that Whitney Houston, one of Kelly's musical idols, passed away.

The singer thought it was a bad omen. But it surely wasn’t because of how their marriage thrived. When they got engaged, Kelly couldn't help but tell the world. On December 15, 2012, she tweeted:

"I’m engaged! I wanted y’all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night. I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever."

SWAPPING VOWS

They sealed their love on October 20, 2013, as they exchanged vows at Blackberry Farms in Tennessee. His children, Savannah and Seth, were part of the bridal party.

She gave birth to their first daughter together on June 12, 2014. She joyfully announced the birth on Twitter, writing:

"Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th! Thank you everyone for all your well wishes. Brandon and I are on cloud 9!!"

Kelly recently gave an emotional performance when she returned to the "American Idol" stage.

The singer was moved to tears as she sang "Piece by Piece," a song about her father when she was part of a special episode on the show in 2016.
