Michael Strahan’s fans have a lot to say about the ongoing child support battle with his ex-wife Jean Muggli Strahan. Jean is asking for over $500,000 from the NFL player-turned-TV host.

Here’s some back story: Michael and Jean have reportedly been in court since last month when the latter claimed she was being owed $547, 000 in unpaid child support. The former football player and Jean were married from 1999 to 2006 when they split amid a messy divorce.

Per The Grio, Jean reportedly got a $15.3 million settlement at the time and was later awarded $18,000 in monthly child support for their twin daughters, Sophia and Isabella, now 14. As TMZ noted, the initial child support payment was reduced to a little under $13,000 in 2009.

Jean is claiming now, however, that not only has Michael not held up to his end of the agreement but that he’s also breaking a promise to cover half the cost of their daughters' riding lessons.

Jean is also seeking to have Michael’s child support payments returned to $18,000, citing the fact that even though he's retired from the NFL, he makes enough money from his co-hosting gigs on "Fox NFL Sunday," "Good Morning America," and "GMA: Strahan, Sara, and Keke."

Michael is reportedly fighting his ex-wife’s claims, insisting that he ever promised to pay half the cost of their daughters' riding lessons. A source close to the Emmy award winner also reportedly told Page Six that the accusations of Michael not paying child support are false.

The issue has been a trending topic for some time now, and as is usually the case, fans have one or two things to say. Many believe that this is just another money-grabbing scheme by Jean.

"That is beyond unfair," one Twitter user offered. "Why should he pay any more when she’s proven she can’t handle the money? Makes zero sense."

"If she blew through 15mil, she don’t need 500K; she needs a J-O-B," another said of Jean. "Do not pass go; do not receive 500,000."

A third Twitter user claimed Jean’s current legal proceedings aren’t the first time she’s tried to get more money from her ex-husband:

"This is actually the second time this year Michael Strahan's ex-wife Jean Muggli has went to court to try to get more money. She files in different states hoping a judge will grant it. Strahan has never missed an $18k payment in 13 years."

One or two Twitter users, however, seemed to think Michael should pay Jean what she’s asking. "Pay up, buddy!" said one fan who put it quite succinctly.

Another person went a more direct route, leaving a question under one of Michael’s posts.

"How come you're not paying your child support for your kids," the user asked. "Report has it you owe back child support in the amount of over $300000."

Michael, meanwhile, is yet to address his legal troubles publicly, neither has he discussed it on any of the shows he co-hosts.
