Janet Jackson Shares Rare Selfie & Looks Fresh-Faced in Glasses and a Knit Cap
Finding a Janet Jackson selfie will probably be one of the most challenging tasks ever, but a few days ago, she offered a rare treat with one selfie of herself looking fresh-faced and proving that age is just a number.
Jackson has had a busy year so far, touring across the world. Earlier this week, she decided to let down her hair a little for a quick car selfie.
In the photo posted to Instagram, Jackson looked younger than her 53 years while sporting a bare face save for lipstick and some eyebrow filler.
"Having Janet Jackson for the 30th anniversary of Rhythm Nation is another event unto itself."
The "Together Again" singer paired an orange puffer jacket with a black knit cap and a pair of glasses. Underneath the hat, her fiery locks fell free over her shoulder.
"Hey U guys," Jackson captioned the snapshot geotagged as New York.
Fans in the comments let her know just how pleased they were with her gift of a selfie. "Queeeen you so beautifuuuuul," one excited fan gushed in all-caps.
"Oh my gosh, you are sooo beautiful!!!" echoed another.
A third fan went as far as declaring that "God really went off creating Janet."
Jackson’s selfie might have been taken days before she posted it, judging by a recent Daily Mail article.
The outlet spotted her on Friday, October 18, as she made her way through New York’s JFK airport in the same ensemble from the pic.
In photos published by Daily Mail, however, Jackson had some extra protection from the cold with a black scarf around her neck. She also slung a black backpack over one shoulder and wore matching sweatpants and platform sneakers.
The 30th-anniversary tour also comes on the heels of her first-ever Las Vegas residency
According to the outlet, Jackson had also been spotted in the same outfits on October 6 and 9 as she jetted across the world.
The sister to late legend Michael Jackson is currently on her "Janet Jackson: A Special 30th Anniversary Celebration of Rhythm Nation" tour. As the name implies, the tour commemorates three decades of her top-selling album, "Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814."
Per Pollstar, Jackson’s tour kicked off with a show in Welch, Minnesota, on September 14, followed one week later by another at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
The executive director of Chase Center Eric Bresler told the outlet:
"Having Janet Jackson for the 30th anniversary of Rhythm Nation is another event unto itself. There’s a lot of good buzz with this tour."
Jackson’s next tour stops include Australia, New Zealand, and Hawaii, all in November. The 30th-anniversary tour also comes on the heels of her first-ever Las Vegas residency "Metamorphosis," which reportedly grossed nearly $13 million from 18 shows.
