Serena Williams Talks about Friendship with Meghan Markle, Says She's the Strongest Person She Knows

The Serena couldn't stop praising her best friend, the Duchess of Sussex, in her latest interview. Serena also revealed some hidden information about Meghan's visit to watch her play.

Meghan debuted her trip outside the country with only her son on a commercial flight to support her friend, Serena.

The Duchess of Sussex went during Serena's final competition against Canadian star, Bianca Andreescu, Daily Mail noted. Serena and Meghan became inseparable when they met at the 2010 Super Bowl party.

During an interview with Access Hollywood, Serena said:

"She flew all the way with a newborn to see me play in New York and flew all the way back that night, and I probably couldn't have done that."

Before the reveal, the assumption was that the new mother left Archie with his dad, Prince Harry, Daily Mail narrated.

However, Serena confirmed that the then four-month-old boy came on a quick trip with his mom. Meghan boarded a commercial flight from London Heathrow with her son.

They took off about 9 AM, and arrived in New York at past noon Of the sacrifice the Duchess of Sussex made, Serena said:

"It really does show you what an amazing person she is and that's just one of the many things she does for me."

Not only did the Duchess of Sussex attend the final competition to support her friend, but she also cheered the tennis VIP.

According to US Weekly, a source disclosed that Meghan “was engaged in the match [and] cheered and stood on big points.”

Aside from Meghan coming to support her at her game, the tennis star revealed that Meghan is a good friend overall. Serena said:

"I call her, text her anytime, crying, she's always there. It doesn't matter what she's going through, she sets time aside and that's amazing."

Making the trip was important to Meghan as a "royal insider" told that she began preparing for the visit long before the date. She made sure that the details of the travel were circumspect.
