R&B singer John Legend is celebrating after receiving a nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album on Wednesday for his Christmas collection of songs.

The 40-year-old shared the news via Twitter along with a seasonal GIF clip that showed off his Christmas spirit in typical Legend fashion. The post is found below.

Legend is building on his accomplishments

Last year, Legend became the first African-American man to join the EGOT category by winning his first Emmy as co-producer of the live version of "Jesus Christ: Superstar" on NBC.

Along with several Grammys, an Oscar, and a Tony Award, Legend cemented his place among only 14 others to reach such an achievement.

His recent nomination is his 30th in the Academy Awards. If he wins, it will be his 11th Grammy. Legend was also nominated for Best Rap/ Sung Performance for "Higher" in collaboration with DJ Khaled and Nipsey Hussle.

His words were overshadowed by a funny GIF

In his tweet, Legend wrote:

"Thank you @RecordingAcad! #ALegendaryChristmas was just nominated for a Grammy! Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album! The new Deluxe Version is available now!"

The "Ordinary People" singer also included a GIF of him seemingly arriving at someone's home to sing Christmas carols. He wore a red suit and tie along with a Santa hat and a Christmas lights chain on his neck.

In the short clip, Legend spread his arms wide and leaned back in a dramatic display while two people stood behind him. The animated video perfectly suits the occasion.

His humble reaction to being named the Sexiest Man Alive

The nomination news follows Legend's recent title as 2019's Sexiest Man Alive dubbed by People Magazine last week. The "This Time" singer succeeds actor Idris Elba, who received the title last year.

Legend told People:

"I was excited, but I was a little scared at the same time because it's a lot of pressure."

Ultimately, nothing beats his family role

Of course, Legend's most significant role is as a husband and father to his two kids: Luna Simon, three, and Miles Theodore, one. Following his nomination, the singer showed he's still first and foremost a family man.

The Daily Mail captured sweet shots of "The Voice" judge strolling through Los Angeles with little Luna tucked on one arm while he held a pink lunchbox in the other.

Luna looked adorable in a yellow dress as she held onto her dad, who wore a simple white shirt with a denim jacket and black pants. Regardless of all his achievements, Legend knows that family takes the cake.
