Hoda Kotb Gushes over Her Massive Sapphire and Diamond Engagement Ring after Revealing Her Engagement on the 'Today' Show

Newly-engaged Hoda Kotb can’t seem to get enough of her engagement ring as she gushed about it in a recent interview.

Hoda Kotb hasn’t gotten over her blinding diamond ring, and she can’t help but gush about it to the entire world.

The Today co-host announced her engagement to her longtime boyfriend Joel Schiffman during Monday’s airing of the daytime show.

While unveiling her breathtaking ring, Hoda said:

“I have to tell you something. A friend of ours asked me to let you guys in on a secret. Her initials are Hoda Kotb, and she’s engaged.”

The massive ring features a radiant-cut bezel-set stone surrounded by a halo of pavé sapphires. The band is also covered in pavé sapphires, adding more flair to the stunning jewelry piece.

During an interview with PEOPLE, the soon-to-be bride got in on all the details of her ring. Hoda’s description, however, wasn’t without humor as she said "it looks like a stop sign.”

Talking about how much she loves her ring, Koda confessed:

“He put it on, and I was blown away by his choice, but I have to tell you I know so little about rings. I just don’t.”

Luckily, her ignorance about rings didn’t stop Joel from making the right choice as he consulted Kotb’s friend, who is a jeweler, Jennifer Miller.

The co-anchor was touched by the gesture as she admitted that what she loved the most was that he thought about what she might like.

On the show, Hoda recalled that she and Joel were on their usual vacation and having “a little dinner on the beach” when he popped the question asking her to be his wife.

The lovebirds, however, haven’t told their daughters, Haley Joy and Hope Catherine, the big news as they’re still trying to figure that part out.

Hoda and Joel’s engagement comes about five months after they celebrated their sixth anniversary per PEOPLE.

The couple first met in 2013 when they were introduced through a mutual friend at a Wall Street event.

They dated quietly for some years before going public in 2015 when the British tabloids published photos of them on the beach. GoodHouse Keeping notes that Hoda referred to Schiffman as “Boots” at the start of their relationship.

The financier and host first expanded their family in 2017 when they adopted daughter, Haley Joy. The brood of three became four in April when they adopted their second girl Hope Catherine.
