Goldberg became famous when she featured on Steven Spielberg's drama film, "The Color Purple" which earned her a nomination in the Academy Awards.

Although Goldberg cares about family, the actress has not found luck in the romantic front as she has walked down that route thrice. Whoopi was married first to Alvin Martin, with whom she shares her only child, Alexandra Martin.

The actress married again, seven years after her first marriage ended to cinematographer David Claessen. In 1994, the actress walked down the aisle for the last time with actor Lyle Tatchenberg; the marriage ended barely a year after.

"The View" co-host in an interview with NYT stated that she has no plans to marry again, referring to herself as the "round hole" and marriage as the "square peg." The Oscar-winning actress further admitted that she never loved any of her husbands in a 2011 interview with Piers Morgan.
