Terry Glenn Jr, Son of Late Ohio State Football Star, Dies from Apparent Accidental Drug Overdose on Thanksgiving Day

Terry Glenn Jr., the son of the late Ohio State and NFL star Terry Glenn has died. Glenn Jr. reportedly died of an apparent accidental overdose in his Columbus, Ohio home last Thursday.

While families across the country celebrated Thanksgiving, friends, and family members of Glenn Jr. were thrown into mourning as the 22-year-old was found unresponsive in a bathroom, NBC4 reported.

According to the outlet, Glenn Jr's family confirmed in a press release that he died from an apparent accidental drug overdose. The young man is said to have been a budding entrepreneur. Glenn Jr. also reportedly had an interest in Vlogging and was an ardent sports enthusiast like his late dad.

In a sad and ironic twist, Glenn Jr's death took place eight days after the second anniversary of his father's tragic demise. Glenn Sr. died on November 20, 2017, after being involved in a car crash in Texas, Atlanta Black Star reported.

Glenn Sr. and his son seemed to have had a close relationship, and on the day of his death, Glenn Jr. tweeted about missing his dad.

"I miss him so much," the now-deceased young man wrote. "This time of the year is the hardest by far man. This was his holiday, and the last one got cut short right before we were all gonna be together. Really just wonder why."

Glenn Sr. kicked off his football career in high school before playing college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes between 1993 and 1995. The famous wide receiver also played for the New England Patriots, the Green Bay Packers, and the Dallas Cowboys.

Funeral arrangements for Glenn Jr. have not been announced, and his family has asked for privacy to mourn.

In the press release quoted by NBC4, they said:

"We make this appeal for privacy on behalf of those close to us, who wish to remember Terry Jr. and celebrate his life quietly and in peace. We thank you for your love, understanding, and prayers of support. Terry Jr. lived a wonderful life, and he will be fondly remembered and terribly missed by his family and friends."

Per ABS, Glenn Jr's death marks another painful blow to a family that has already endured so much tragedy. Glenn Sr. overcame the murder of his mother by a former boyfriend at age 13 to become a star player, only to die in a car crash at the age of 43. Now, the family has to deal with the tragic death of his son.

According to NBC5, Glenn Jr. is survived by his mother Kim Combs-Matthews and stepfather Lou Matthews, siblings Gabe Matthews and Glenn Sr.'s other kids Christian, Tatum, Greyson, Natalie, Samantha, and Vanessa Glenn.
