Dolly Parton Once Revealed Why She Never Had Kids with Husband Carl Dean after 53 Years of Marriage
Dolly Parton and his husband of 53 years, Carl Dean, don’t have children but are perfectly content with their relationship.
In an interview with Billboard, the iconic singer revealed why they have no regrets of not having a child. She said that she used to think that she would regret it.
She said that she and Dean just assumed they would have children from the time they were still dating until they got married. She explained that it was not their conscious decision not to have a child.

GOD'S PLAN
“We even had names if we did, but it didn't turn out that way. Now I say, ‘God didn't mean for me to have kids so everybody's kids could be mine,’” she said.
The singer is close to her family, especially to her nieces and nephews. The singer continued:
“Now that Carl and I are older, we often say, ‘Aren't you glad we didn't have kids? Now we don't have kids to worry about.’”

Parton, known for her flamboyant style and unique hair, feels like a mother to all children so much so that she released a children’s album, “I Believe in You.”
In an interview on TODAY, the singer explained that the album hopes to help children who are experiencing bullying.
The singer said the secret of her successful marriage is their mutual respect – and they also make each other laugh.
GROWING UP WITHOUT MONEY
The album is about the importance of someone believing in you, the “Coat of Many Colors” singer said. The singer also revealed that she experienced bullying herself, growing up in a poor family.
Parton added that it may be God’s plan for her not to have children so that she can be a mother to everyone.
Her bond with her longtime husband has not been made any less strong by being childless.

In 2017, the “Jolene” singer also credited secrecy for her long-lasting marriage with Carl Dean.
She said that she took a conscious effort to keep her marriage very personal and sacred. She tries to keep her husband out of the news.
She added that being in the limelight was not what Dean had signed up for when he married her and that she loves him enough to keep him away from it.
