Hilary Duff Marries Matthew Koma in an Intimate Ceremony after a 7-Month Engagement
On Saturday, "Lizzie McGuire" actress Hilary Duff and her singer/songwriter fiancé Matthew Koma tied the knot during an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles.
The 32-year-old actress stunned in a backless Jenny Packham gown with a long cape, which Jenny designed with confidence in mind.
THE DRESS
“I want Hilary to feel, how I think she wanted to feel in this dress from the direction that we had, which is very modern, and it’s quite a bold look,” Jenny said in a behind-the-scenes video. “And more than anything, I wanted her to feel immensely confident in it, and it’s a very confident look.”
The couple shared their newlywed bliss with a picture to social media where they posed in front of a Jeep Grand Wagoneer with "Just Married" written in the window. Romantically, Matthew captioned the snap, "For the rest of forever… 12.21.19."
THE CEREMONY
Hilary and Matthew married following a seven-month engagement at her house during a "small and low-key" ceremony shared with their close friends and family.
According to a source that spoke with PEOPLE, their ceremony began at sunset, after which they exchanged vows inside Hilary's house. After the ceremony, the reception kicked off in a white tent in Hilary's backyard.
THE SHORT ROAD TO MARRIAGE
The newlyweds were first spotted together on Valentine's Day in 2017 when they enjoyed a beach getaway in Costa Rica.
In June the following year, Matthew announced that he and Hilary had "made a little princess" together named Banks Violet, whom they welcomed in October 2018.
BANKS VIOLET'S BROTHER
Now Hilary's seven-year-old son Luca with Mike Comrie finally has a sibling, even though they are not close in age. During an interview in March 2017, the actress admitted that she'd come to terms with knowing Luca won't have a brother or sister close to his age.
While it "sucked" that everyone always asked her when she would be having her second child, Hilary went through a rough patch with ex-husband and former hockey player Mike Comrie and decided against it at the time. The pair separated in 2014, and their divorce became final in 2016.

SURPRISING BIRTHING DETAILS
Ten days after Hilary Duff gave birth to Banks Violet, she appeared on a podcast by Dr. Elliot Berlin, wherein she elaborated on her experience the second time around.
The actress chose to deliver at home during an all-natural water birth, and following long labor, Banks finally arrived. Hilary also shared that she drank her placenta as a part of "the most delightful smoothie" she's ever had along with fruit and juice, "and everything delicious."
