Meet Quincy Jones, 'Mod Squad' Star Peggy Lipton's Former Husband of 14 Years
“Mod Squad” star Peggy Lipton’s former husband, Quincy Jones, happens to be one of the best minds in music and television history.
Jones, who was married to Lipton for 14 years, has made a huge mark in the entertainment industry and also considers himself a humanitarian, as shown in his Instagram profile.
His massive influence is reflected in his Instagram following at 635,000 as of December 27, 2019. Many of his photos on Instagram show him on red carpets.

GRAMMY-WINNING MUSIC ARTIST
One such was taken during the Grammy Awards night where he is pictured with legendary music executive Clarence “Dr. Bump” Avant. Jones captioned the photo:
“It absolutely makes my soul SMILE to see a piece of my brother’s life on the big screen (or small screen...because I know y’awl always using these little iPhones)...Clarence 'Dr. Bump' Avant paved the way for us ALL & there’s NO better time to hear his story than now.”
Avant’s life was documented in the Netflix documentary, “The Black Godfather,” which became a hit. Nicknamed the “Godfather of Black Music,” Avant was a high school dropout who became massively successful.
FORMER WIFE'S PASSING
Jones himself is a Grammy-winning music artist. He won his first Grammy award in 1963 for his Count Basie arrangement of "I Can't Stop Loving You," as shown in his IMDB profile.
Jones and Lipton were married from 1974 to 1990. Lipton passed away on May 11, 2019 at the age of 72, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. She had colon cancer.
In his letter, Jones thanked Lipton for their beautiful memories and that he was in utter sadness over her passing.
Jones wrote an emotional letter to pay tribute to his late former wife.
"She made her journey peacefully with her daughters by their side. We feel so lucky every moment we spent with her," he wrote in a statement shared with the Los Angeles Times.

The former couple share two daughters, Kidada and Rashida.
In his letter, Jones thanked Lipton for their beautiful memories and that he was in utter sadness over her passing.
Aside from Kidada and Rashida, Jones has four other daughters.
The legendary music artist is a proud father of six daughters, whom he all described as brilliant, kind, creative and perseverant.
