While the Duke of Cambridge donned a navy blue coat with black shoes, his wife's choice of outfits was impressive as ever, causing her to make the headlines.

She rocked a chic plum coat and a blue hat. The royal also had a Jaeger purse, and a pair of Stuart Weitzman knee-high boots to compliment her look.

Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, along with their toddler, Archibald Mountbatten Windsor, were absent, as they were still enjoying the holiday season across continents with Doria Ragland, Meghan's mother.

According to a royal source :

"Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, Their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year as a new family, with the Duchess' mother."

This also caused their absence at the Sandringham Christmas service, which was attended by Kate, her husband, and two out of her three children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George.

Effortlessly making fashion statements is one thing Kate is famous for. During her attendance at the Christmas service in the same venue, the 38-year-old donned a fur themed coat and a gorgeous green colored headgear.

It appeared that the whole family has a theme in mind; while Kate's hat matched the color of her daughter's coat, Prince William's coat color rhymed with his son's.

A family that slays together engages in big things together, and the new year for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge promises to be breathtaking.
