Wendy Williams Drags Nicole Kidman & Husband Keith Urban for Only Donating $500K to Australian Wildfire Relief Efforts

Wendy Williams dragged Australians Nicole Kidman and her husband, Keith Urban, for donating only $500,000 towards relief efforts for their country's wildfires. The talk show host discussed it against the backdrop of the Kardashian controversy.

Williams, 55, resumed her eponymous show this week, and it didn't take long for the outspoken host to start ruffling a few feathers. On the Tuesday "Hot Topics" segment, she addressed Kidman and Urban's donation.

"You got two Australians, the Keith and the Nicole, and they donated $500k. That would be 250 apiece. That's it? That's it?" Williams said after highlighting the destructive impact of the fires that, according to The Sun, have killed over 26 people and destroyed thousands of homes.

2019 was quite a tumultuous year for the former radio host, but she came out smiling

"These are your people. These are your countrymen, and that's all you do?" Williams continued lashing out at Urban and Kidman before back-pedaling and appearing to scold herself for judging the celebrity couple's donation.

The host added:

"I found myself acting like you all and saying 'oh wait let me pull pack and stop counting their money. Let me pull back.' Any penny is something, you know, although there were non-Australian people who donated a million dollars."

Williams went on to cite US entertainers Miley Cyrus and Pink, as some of those who donated a million dollars to the Australian natural disaster. She was not exactly accurate, however, since Pink previously announced her donation of $500,000 via Twitter.

Williams' criticism of the "Aquaman" star and her Country singer hubby comes in the wake of the Kardashians getting called out by a social media user for not donating to the Australian wildfires.

"Nothing gets me more heated than to see people think they know what we donated to and to think we have to publicize everything," Kim Kardashian, 39, fired back at the since-deleted Twitter comment.

Tuesday's episode was the second of the year for Williams after she started off on Monday, discussing British singer Adele's massive weight loss. The TV host cheered Adele, who announced her split from husband Simon Konecki last April.

Williams herself filed for divorce from her husband of nearly 22 years, Kevin Hunter, in April. 2019 was quite a tumultuous year for the former radio host, but she came out smiling at the end of the day.

Williams publicly revealed that she checked into a sober house to deal with her addiction issues, and also had to endure the humiliation from reports that her now-estranged husband fathered a child with his longtime mistress.

Despite reports of a relapse brought on by her marriage troubles, Williams quickly bounced back and has been enjoying the single life in New York. She's also been out socializing more than ever before.

By September 2019, it was announced that the "Wendy Williams Show" had been renewed for two more seasons, and a month later, the Emmy-nominated host received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

This past Christmas, Williams spent time with her family in Miami, something she seems to be doing a lot more of since parting ways with Hunter.
