A UNIQUE CRIME DRAMA

“Criminal Minds,” which first aired in September 2005, airs every Wednesday night on CBS. It is also available to stream on CBS All Access.

Created by Jeff Davis, the police procedural crime drama television series is set primarily at the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit in Quantico, Virginia.

Last year, fans were anxious over the possible cancellation of the series after Season 13.

What makes Criminal Minds different from many procedural dramas is that it focuses on profiling the criminal rather than the crime itself. The riveting series pits a team of FBI profilers against a different serial killer each week.

The show's cast includes Mandy Patinkin (playing Jason Gideon), Thomas Gibson (Aaron Hotchner), Lola Glaudini (Elle Greenaway), Shemar Moore (Derek Morgan), and Matthew Gray Gubler (Spender Reid, Ph. D.)

Criminal Minds has had two spin-offs: Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.

Past rumors about the show’s cancellation have long kept fans on the edge. Last year, fans were anxious about the possible cancellation of the series after Season 13.

In March 2017, CBS announced the renewal of 14 shows on their lineup, which didn't include “Criminal Minds.” At the time, fans were eagerly waiting for the show's renewal for Season 13.

In 2016, the same thing happened when rumors swirled about the show's cancellation after Season 11. But then the show successfully had Season 12.
