Abby Huntsman Announced Exit from 'The View' and Some Fans Want Meghan McCain to Go with Her
Fans of “The View” react after co-host Abby Huntsman announced her exit from the show, and many of them are wishing Meghan McCain follows suit.
The new year for fans of the daytime talk show “The View” began with the shocking exit of Abby Huntsman.
However, the news of Abby’s exit doesn’t seem to be satisfactory to many as they also want Meghan McCain to follow suit.
After Monday’s announcement of Abby’s exit, some fans have taken to twitter to stage a protest, which urges Meghan to go with Huntsman.
A concerned fan shared a gif of a younger NeNe Leakes with a confused look on her face with a conversation that read:
“Abby Huntsman: ...I quit.”
“Everybody: Meghan ain’t going with you?”
Another netizen wished Abby good luck in her future endeavors, however, not before asking her to take Meghan along.
Television producer Charles Elgin was also part of the protest as he revealed that he was hopeful that Meghan would be the next to leave the show.
Welp, Abby Huntsman is leaving #TheView. Hopefully Meghan McCain is next! 🤞🏾— Elgin Charles (@ElginCharles) January 13, 2020
A user was disappointed that it was Abby who left the show and not Meghan. Huntsman, who joined the show in September 2018 at the beginning of season 22, declared her exit on January 13’s episode.
According to PopCulture, the television personality left the show to focus on helping her father with his gubernatorial campaign.
Speaking to PEOPLE about her decision, the 33-year-old said:
“Family has always been my number one priority and is where I need to be focused at this time. We are incredibly close and are there to support and help each other when it matters.”

It’s bittersweet that we share the news that our @HuntsmanAbby will be leaving @TheViewABC to join her father’s campaign for governor of Utah as a senior advisor. From the entire team here, they are so lucky to have you and we will miss you greatly, Abby — you’ll always have a seat at our table! Her last show as a co-host will be Friday, January 17. ❤️
Huntsman also spoke about her time on the show saying she was thankful for the opportunity and that she has learned so much from her co-hosts as they will always be special to her.
While Abby’s exit was drama-free, CNN notes that the reverse is the case as the move to leave the show came after insiders revealed that Huntsman complained of a toxic culture at the show.
She also had a strained relationship with co-host Meghan McCain, which played a significant role in her decision.
Although both women have never come out to address the claims of their soured relationship, PopCulture disclosed that Meghan, however, commented on Abby’s exit with a tweet.
Wishing my amazing friend and co-host @HuntsmanAbby nothing but the best on her next chapter! @TheView is less without you and your light. I wish you, your family, & your father @JonHuntsman’s campaign all the absolute best. He’s lucky to have you officially lead his team! ♥️🇺🇸— Meghan McCain (@MeghanMcCain) January 13, 2020
McCain called Abby an “amazing friend” and wished her nothing but the best. She also confessed that the set was “less without you or your light.”
