Oprah Winfrey Lets Her Natural Hair Loose as She Poses in Sweater and Jeans in Photo

Oprah Winfrey shows off her natural hair in a sweater and jeans as she reveals her latest book club pick, "American Dirt."

Dressed in a gray sweater and skinny jeans, Oprah Winfrey held up her book club pick, which is the controversial novel by Jeanine Cummins, "American Dirt." The author has received harsh backlash for her polarizing portrayal of Mexican immigrants and their struggles.

Despite the criticism that the book has received, as it was written by a non-immigrant from an immigrant's perspective, it was still endorsed by Oprah as it humanizes the strict migration process that the US has put in place.

“What touched me is, by the end of the story — not even by the end — I immediately was drawn into the story and their desire to get into the United States. Every night on the news,  you see the stories at the border. I thought this humanized that migration process in a way that nothing else I’d ever felt or seen had.”

The novel follows Lydia and her son Luca, as they escape from Acapulco, Mexico after a drug cartel murders their family members. While many praised the book for its tale, some slammed it as an act of cultural appropriation.

"American Dirt" will be featured on an episode of Apple TV+ series "Oprah's Book Club," where Winfrey and Cummins will travel to the border to discuss the work intensively.

"This story really changed me and changed the way I see what it means to be an immigrant trying to come to this country."

While Winfrey's latest stance has made many people disappointed with her choice, there is one person that has remained through her side through thick-and-thin, and that's her partner Stedman Graham.

Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham have been together for more than three decades now, and they're the epitome of relationship goals.

Although they kept their relationship private for years, Oprah sometimes gives her fans a glimpse of their life together through the interviews that she gives.

The secret to them being together for so long is to support one another regardless of what to do and that's worked great for them.

“We want each other to succeed. And I want her to succeed and to be as successful as she possibly can, so I encourage that.”

Since meeting in 1986, the pair decided to stay unmarried but are one of the strongest couples in Hollywood and it seems nothing is going to change that.
