Vanity Fair: Bill Murray Confirms His Return as Peter Venkman in 'Ghostbusters' Sequel
Over three decades after Bill Murray held the iconic role of "Peter Venkman" in the hit film "Ghostbusters," he is set to reprise his role, a new report states.
It's been 31 years since fans saw Bill Murray put on a proton pack and fight supernatural elements. He was a funny scientist who was somewhat deadpan.
Fans adored his character, and Vanity Fair has good news for them. The news outlet reported that the actor would reprise his role when the movie returns with a sequel this summer.

MURRAY IS NO LONGER YOUNG
Until the news outlet confirmed it, Murray's involvement was only rumored. The actor is excited to be a part of the cast of the new movie, but he also had a few complaints.
At 69, his body is not what it used to be as a younger man, and the proton packs feel more cumbersome than before. He told the news outlet that wearing it for a longtime tilt his spine, and makes him uncomfortable.

A NEW GENERATION IS CARRYING THE LOAD
Thankfully, Bill Murray would be wearing the pack for only limited shots. A younger group of actors will be running the show this time, and the veteran is more than happy to let them take the lead.
Murray has kept busy in the years since he appeared in the hit movie. He has starred in several productions and recently revealed that he would love to work at P.F Chang.
The new crop of stars includes "Antman" Paul Rudd and Carrie Coon of "The Leftovers." McKenna Grace of "Troop Zero" will also feature, as well as Finn Wolfhard of "Stranger Things."

ONE PERSON IS MISSING
The plot of the film didn't get reviewed by the news outlet. But according to IMDB, the movie follows a single mom and her two children who arrive at a small town to discover they have a connection to the OG "Ghostbusters."
The mum-of-two's dad in the movie is "Egon Spengler," portrayed by the late Harold Ramis. The actor passed away in 2015, hence the reason why his character is also deceased.

THE REST OF THE GANG WILL RETURN
The rest of the OG cast — Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Arnie Potts, and Sigourney Weaver — will return with Murray. Jason Reitman is directing, and he also serves as a co-writer on the project.

He made that reveal while appearing on Amy Schumer's show, "3 Girls and 1 Keith." Working at Chang is his dream job if he ever quits acting, and his preferred location is the one at the Atlanta Airport.
In the meantime, Murray is still acting and having the time of his life while at it. "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" will hit theaters on July 10th.
