Keith Urban Talks about His Next Album & Says It's a Broad Mix of Songs, Genres and Styles
Keith Urban recently revealed that his new album is coming along nicely. The country music singer-guitarist shared more details about what fans can expect from his upcoming offering.
It seems Urban’s latest album is slowly reaching the point of completion judging by his comments. However, the star still hasn’t revealed the title or the release date.
The last time the musician released an album was in 2018 and it was titled “Graffiti U.” “Rolling Stone” asked the star if he had a particular direction he would be taking with the upcoming record and responded saying:
“Just whatever that mix is that I do of things. I don’t really think of it in terms of […] I couldn’t really label that. It’s a broad mix of songs, genres, styles.”

Urban’s album will feature some “guitar stuff”
Urban also shared that he had some “guitar stuff” in the album too. He continued his explanation by revealing: “There’s lots of everything in there. A bit of everything.”
The publication also asked if the country singer felt pressurized to release an album yearly or every two years. Urban stated that he didn’t feel that way and “couldn’t imagine” having to do so.
Album will have guest artists
The artist previously revealed that the upcoming album would also include some guest artists which he would be collaborating with. Besides working on his new album, earlier in the month, he launched his residency at Caesars Palace.
The residency has become such a hit that the star had to add four additional shows for July and September 2020.
“Graffiti U’s” success
When “Graffiti U” came out it managed to find a spot at the top of the Billboard Country Albums chart. It became his fifth No. 1 album overall.
Previous album featured Julia Michaels
The record also took the No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard Top 200 chart. The third single from the album, "Coming Home" which features Julia Michaels, managed to get into the Top 15.
Kelsea Ballerini was Urban’s opening act
Urban then launched the “Graffiti U World Tour” on June 15, 2018, with Kelsea Ballerini serving as his opening act. When the tour moved on to Canada, the country singer had Lindsay Ell join him.
