It was well over a decade ago since Steve Irwin died of a stingray injury to the heart, but that doesn't mean he is forgotten.

On Saturday, his wife, Terri, shared a throwback of herself and Steve to commemorate when he first asked her to be his wife.

According to Terri, the photo was taken at Steve's family's zoo, "The Australia Zoo." In the picture, a young Steve and Terri, who wore matching uniforms, are the picture of immense joy.

They smiled happily in an affectionate pose that had a gorgeous Terri sitting on a large rock and wrapping her arms around Steve.

The smile on the deceased TV personality's face tells it all. He looked like he was in love as he had his head turned to the side to touch Terri's.

For Terri, 55, her love for Steve is still alive, and she wrote so in the caption of the beautiful photo. It reads:

"It was 28 years ago today, here at @AustraliaZoo, that Steve asked me to marry him. Life is constantly changing. Love is forever."

Terri's post has since sparked a string of thoughtful comments from netizens as they came forth to commemorate Steve's memory and to laud Terri for keeping him alive in her heart.

At the time of Steve's untimely death, he and Terri had only been married for 14 years. The famous couple tied the knot in 1996 and had birthed their children.

This makes it one of the many times that Terri, who has not been confirmed to be in a relationship with anyone else after the tragedy, will be doing so.

Perhaps it is the nature of Steve's death or just his charming personality that will remain evergreen. The comments section of the Facebook post, which is only a few days old, is filled with words of comfort and admiration for him and his family.

A fan wrote, "I believe love is forever as well! Happy anniversary!! Till you guys meet again!" While another wrote:

"Love sure is forever! How we miss Steve terribly but so thankful for the wonderful time you both had together and those precious kids you've made!"

As for life after Steve's sudden demise, Terri continues to oversee activities at the family's zoo, while raising their two children, daughter Bindi, 21, and son Robert, 16, in Australia.

Despite this, she never ceases to commemorate the memory of her loving husband with affectionate displays like this.

This makes it one of the many times that Terri, who has not been confirmed to be in a relationship with anyone else after the tragedy, will be doing so.

The youthful author is not only doing an excellent job at the zoo but is raising her family to be happy despite the past tragedy of losing Steve, and that is indeed commendable.
