Goldie Hawn & Rest of 'First Wives Club' Cast More Than 20 Years after the Beloved Movie Premiered

In 1996, a brilliant cast of stars teamed up to create this wonderful piece of cinematic gold about the sweet vengeance of a group of middle-aged women belittled by their husband and took over Hollywood.

23 years later, the loving fans of this comedy are delighted to learn that this crude and hilarious classic from the ‘90s is getting a sort of sequel that will feature the stars of the original film, Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton, and Bette Midler.

While we wait for this upcoming new installment, which will be titled “Family Jewels,” is released, let’s catch up with the careers of the amazing ensemble cast of “The First Wives Club.”

The 74-year-old actress played Elise Eliot-Atchinson, an aging and alcoholic movie actress addicted to plastic surgery. She finds a way to regain some of her confidence in the First Wives Club.

Already an accomplished actress when she starred in the film, Hawn continued appearing in movies like “Town & Country” (2001), “The Banger Sisters” (2002), “Snatched” (2017), and “The Christmas Chronicles” (2018).

The 74-year-old actress played Annie MacDuggan-Paradis. Tired of trying to save her marriage with therapy, and after her husband sleeps with a younger woman, she decides to join her college friends to form the First Wives Club.

Keaton continued her successful career with roles in films like “Something’s Gotta Give” (2003), “The Family Stone” (2005), “Smother” (2008), “The Big Wedding” (2013), “5 Flights Up” (2014), and “Poms” (2019).

BETTE MIDLER

The 74-year-old actress played Brenda Morelli-Cushman, whose divorce has left her both depressed and broke, forcing her to find solace in the First Wives Club.

Midler went on to star in films like “Drowning Mona” (2000), “Isn’t She Great” (2000), “The Stepford Wives” (2004), “Parental Guidance” (2012), and “The Glorias” (2020), and the TV series “Bette” (2000-2001).

The 85-year-old actress played Gunilla Garson Goldberg, a wealthy socialite from New York that after being married many times becomes emphatic with the First Wives Club’s cause.

The veteran star became known to an entirely new generation for playing Professor McGonagall in the “Harry Potter” films, and also appeared in “Tea with Mussolini” (1999), “Gosford Park” (2001), “Quartet” (2012), and “The Lady in the Van” (2015).

DAN HEDAYA

The 79-year-old actor played Morton “Morty” Cushman, Brenda’s ex-husband, who spends all the money he took away from her in his frivolous younger girlfriend.

The veteran star became known to an entirely new generation for playing Professor McGonagall in the “Harry Potter” films, and also appeared in “Tea with Mussolini” (1999), “Gosford Park” (2001), “Quartet” (2012), and “The Lady in the Van” (2015).

The 54-year-old actress played Shelly Stewart, Morty’s girlfriend, a manipulative social climber. She is an important target for the First Wives Club.

Parker became mostly known for starring in the TV series “Sex and the City” (1998-2004), and was also in the series “Divorce” (2016-2019). On the big screen, she has been in “The Family Stone” (2005), “Failure to Launch” (2006), and “Blue Night” (2018).

VICTOR GARBER

The 70-year-old actor played Bill Atchinson, a successful film producer and Elise’s estranged husband, who took advantage of his wife’s past fame to make a fortune and then fell in love with a younger actress.

Apart from roles in films like “Titanic” (1997), “Argo” (2012), and “Sicario” (2015), Garber is known for his extensive TV work, starring in “Alias” (2001-2006), “Web Therapy” (2011-2015), and “The Flash” (2015-2017).

The 47-year-old actress played actress Phoebe LaVelle, Bill’s live-in girlfriend, and a promising young film star. She turns out to be an underage school drop-out, which the First Wives Club uses to blackmail Bill.

Berkley landed roles in “The Real Blonde” (1997), “Random Encounter” (1998), “Last Call” (1999), “The Curse of the Jade Scorpion” (2001), “Meet Market” (2004), “S. Darko” (2009), and recently returned for the reboot of “Saved by the Bell.”

STEPHEN COLLINS

The 72-year-old actor played Aaron Paradis, Annie’s estranged husband who cheats on her with their therapist. When finally makes up his mind to return to Annie, she doesn’t want him back anymore.

Collins appeared in the film “Blood Diamond” (2006), and in TV series like “7th Heaven” (1996-2007) and “Revolution” (2013-2014), before his career ended after a child molestation accusation against him proven true.

STOCKARD CHANNING

The 76-year-old actress played Cynthia Swann-Griffin, Annie, Elise, and Brenda’s best friend from college, whose suicide due to her ex-husband remarrying prompts the reunion of the surviving friends and the founding of the First Wives Club.

Channing continued to star in films like “Practical Magic” (1998), “Other Voices” (2000), “The Business of Strangers” (2001), “Behind the Red Door” (2003), “Anything Else” (2003), and TV series “The West Wing” (1999-2006).

MARCIA GAY HARDEN

The 60-year-old actress played Dr. Leslie Rosen, who apart from treating Annie’s self-esteem issues serves as Annie and Aaron’s marriage counselor, only to end up having a short-lived affair with Aaron.

Harden went on to appear in films like “Meet Joe Black” (1998), “Space Cowboys” (2000), “Pollock” (2000), “Mystic River” (2003), “Mona Lisa Smile” (2003), “Into the Wild” (2007), “Magic in the Moonlight” (2014), and “Fifty Shades of Grey” (2015).

The 60-year-old actor played Duarto Feliz, Brenda’s boss, an interior decorator, and ally of the First Wives Club.

Apart from starring in TV series like “Step by Step” (1997), “The Young and the Restless” (2008), “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” (2018-2020), he has been in films like “The Wager” (2007), “The Strike” (2016), and “Double Play” (2017).
