TMZ: Tyler Perry's Nephew Takes His Own Life in Prison and Family Is Suspicious of Foul Play
Tyler Perry's nephew was found dead in his prison cell after an alleged suicide, but his family is suspicious and believes foul play was involved.

Tyler Perry's 26-year-old nephew, Gavin Porter, was found dead in his prison cell in Louisiana. It turns out, while he was in solitary confinement, he hung himself with a bedsheet which led to his death.
Tyler Perry did not have an easy early life just like his nephew.

THE SITUATION BEFORE THE INCIDENT
Porter was placed in solitary confinement after he got into a fight with another inmate over the weekend. On Tuesday at around 6 PM, guards checked on him and everything was normal. However, at around 8 PM, he was already found dead.
Prison guards told Gavin's family that there was no foul play involved in the death, but they aren't convinced and believe something must have led to his death. He was in prison for killing his biological father in front of his mom back in 2016. For that, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Tyler Perry did not have an easy early life just like his nephew. Before he rose to fame and became one of the wealthiest men in Hollywood, he was actually born into poverty and was abused as a young boy. However, he made sure not to give up and used the adversity he experienced to rise above it.
Thanks to his writing skills, Tyler ultimately made it out of the hole that he was in and created a stellar career out of it.

RISING ABOVE THE ADVERSITIES
When he turned 50 in 2019, he made sure to thank his five-year-old self for making it through and making him the person that he is today.
"I love you, and I am so thankful to God that you survived. Even when I didn't want to, your pureness and innocence ushered me here. Thank you for these 50 years. I love you. We made it."

GIVING BACK TO OTHERS
Like how he rose from poverty, Tyler Perry has been trying to do the same for many. He is often seen doing random acts of kindness for complete strangers, offering jobs and paying off loans. While he wasn't able to do the same for his nephew in prison, there is no doubt that this is a loss that stings for the producer.
Perry has yet to speak out about his nephew's death, as no news has been heard from his camp so far.
