Retired football star, Michael Strahan and Eddie Murphy's ex-wife, Nicole Murphy, have a history together. The pair sustained a long-term relationship, which lasted seven years before their not-so-pleasant breakup in 2014.

Michael Strahan's relationship with Nicole Murphy was in the public eye from its onset, which perhaps was not a great idea for the couple.

Their eventual split raptured through the media for months after, with several rumors and speculations about the reason for their breakup making the headlines.

Michael Strahan and Nicole kicked off their romance in 2007, getting engaged two years later at the Bahamian beach. The earlier years of their relationship were seemingly rosy, with the two spending so much time exploring and traveling together.

While the model was a mother to her five kids shared with the "Dr. Doolitle" actor, the sportsman had four kids from his two previous marriages. But they pushed through, with nine kids between them.

Then a newly retired player, Strahan, had hours to spare, with his stint on the short-lived Fox show, "Brothers," being his significant engagement at the time.

As their relationship progressed, however, the duo climbed higher in the ladder of fame, with the sports icon landing gigs on "Live with Kelly & Michael" and "Good Morning America."

Michael Strahan's partner, on the other hand, added reality television to her modeling profile, becoming a VH1 star on the reality show, "Hollywood Exes."

As their schedules got busier, the former lovebirds began to drift further apart. Their careers required them to reside in different states, the television show host, in New York, and his then-girlfriend, in faraway Los Angeles.

The Hollywood sweethearts managed to make it work at first, with Nicole moving to New York one week in a month to spend time with Michael. The long-distance relationship arrangement worked for them for a while, until it didn't.

The couple broke up in 2014, just before the father of four got inducted into the Hall Of Fame 2014 class, marking the peak of his stardom. Although their split was confirmed to have resulted from long distance and busy schedules, many have speculated that there was more to it.

Rumors of a cheating scandal being the underlying cause of their breakup flooded the media at the time, and neither of the ex-sweethearts has stepped forward to refute the claims.

Sources revealed that in the moments leading to their breakup, Michael Strahan's girlfriend discovered he was unfaithful and allegedly two-timing with another woman.

According to TMZ, the 52-year-old waited until she was "finally convinced" and got her facts right before making her move to end their romance.

Many believed that the mother of five's decision to go public with the breakup announcement moments before he became a Hall of Fame inductee was in a bid to sabotage one of his greatest milestones, as revenge for his unfaithfulness.

However, some insiders disclosed that it was strictly coincidental that his honors came around the same time she got her facts right that he was indeed unfaithful, leading her to call for a breakup immediately.

Others claim the pair already called off their engagement several weeks before going public, as their "bi-coastal relationship has been on and off for almost two years."

Shortly after their split went viral, the "Hollywood Exes" icon finally made her first comment on the breakup saying it was all good between them, adding that they "will always be friends."

When questioned about the rumors of an alleged cheating scandal, she refused to make any comments.

Before his relationship with Nicole, the Hall of Fame inductee had been married twice, with four children to show. First, he was married to interior designer, Wanda Hutchins in 1992.

She remained Michael Strahan's wife for four years before their divorce in 1996. The former couple welcomed two children together, a daughter, Tanita, and the icon's only son, Michael Jr.

Next, he tied the knot with Jean Muggli in 1999. Their marriage, which lasted for seven years, yielded twin daughters, Sophie and Isabella.

Jean alleged that the retired NFL star was gay, and physically assaulted her during their marriage, which drove her to file for a divorce.

However, Michael Strahan's ex-wife, Wanda Hutchins came to his defense saying he was a good man, while Jean Muggli was "evil."

The television personality's kids are all grown up, with his oldest daughter, Tanita, now a 28-year-old visual artist, his son, 25, and twin daughters, fifteen.

Michael Strahan's daughters, Sophie and Isabella, are easily their dad's favorite and the most famous of the Strahan kids.

This is thanks to their constant red carpet appearances with their dad, stunning looks, and countless legal feuds between their parents over child support agreement.
