TMZ: Christy Gibel & Todd from 'Little Women: LA' Are Officially Divorced Weeks before Her Due Date
Christy Gibel is finally clear of legal ties to ex-husband Todd Gibel. The divorce comes just in time for the reality star to reach a new stage in her life.
Christy and Gibel were married for five years before they decided to call things off last year. They're almost ready to move on, but they still have a few things to work out.
Finally officially split
According to TMZ, Christy was able to restore her maiden name to Christy Lynn McGinity. Despite wanting an annulment, she was satisfied with the judge's final ruling.
The decision comes just a month ahead of the date that Christy is due to give birth to her child — a fact she's happy about. The reality star is pregnant with her new beau Gonzo's child.
A doggy situation
Christy and Gibel have a few things remaining to sort out, though. One of them is determining who gets possession of their dog, Elvis, who was reportedly surrendered to the Vanderpump Dog foundation.
From there, one of Christy's family members re-adopted the dog. Gibel wants Elvis back, and is reportedly hoping the court will side with him in the final settlement.
Claims against each other
Christy and Gonzo got together soon after the former split from her then-husband. Back in August, TMZ claimed that Gibel accused his ex-wife of committing infidelity during their marriage.
The outlet further reported that, for Christy's part, she alleged Gibel committed financial fraud. Back in May 2019, the reality star filed a restraining order against Gibel.
A restraining order
According to People, she filed the order to look out for her and her daughter Autumn's safety. The move came when Gibel first publicly accused Christy of keeping their dog from him.
At the time, Christy was keeping Elvis in an animal shelter for longer and longer without Gibel's permission. The next month, Christy opened up to People about her relationship.
"I’ve spent too much time in the last four years not taking care of ME and it’s time that I focus on what really matters in my life," she said. We wish Christy a safe pregnancy and the best with her new relationship.
