David Hasselhoff, 73, Makes Rare Public Appearance During Hike with Wife — Photos
The legendary TV icon stepped out for a casual hike with his wife, and almost nobody recognized him.
David Hasselhoff, 73, and his wife, model Hayley Roberts, 45, were photographed hiking together in Calabasas, California, on Monday, April 6, 2026. The sighting is drawing attention online, and not just because Hasselhoff rarely appears in public these days.
The "Baywatch" star kept things comfortable for the outing, pairing a white T-shirt with loose black athletic pants and a baseball cap. He wore black glasses and relied on two hiking poles to move through the terrain.
Roberts kept a coordinated look, wearing a plain white T-shirt, black leggings, and a teal baseball cap. The couple appeared relaxed and unbothered as they made their way through the trail.
But the photos quickly made the rounds online, and the reaction from fans was almost unanimous: disbelief. Many simply could not connect the man in the photos to the star they remembered.
On Instagram, one netizen said, "I absolutely never would've recognized him." Another fan echoed, "Noooo there's no way that's him [sic]."
The skepticism kept coming. "This is not him !!" wrote one commenter, while another added, "That can't be him!" One other person was even more blunt, writing, "Years of living on the edge is catching up to him. He looks sick and frail."
Over on Facebook, someone simply exclaimed, "No way that's the HOFF."
Not everyone was unkind about the change, though. "I mean we all get older and change, he also prob wasn't expecting a photo op [sic]," one person noted.
The public reaction to Hasselhoff's appearance comes more than a year after a deeply painful chapter for his family. In March 2025, his ex-wife Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff died by suicide at age 62.
Concerned relatives went to check on her after she failed to respond to their messages. They discovered her body inside her house and immediately contacted emergency services. Paramedics arrived just after 10 p.m. that Wednesday, but they could not revive her and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Hasselhoff broke his silence at the time, telling TMZ, "Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time, but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time."
The actress leaves behind two daughters and a granddaughter, whom she shared with Hasselhoff. Their marriage lasted from 1989 until their divorce in 2006.
Now, seeing the "Baywatch" star out and moving forward, the photos carry a little more weight, and they say more than any caption could.
