Snoop Dogg Planned Surprise Vow Renewal for His Wife Shante 10 Years after First Tying the Knot
Snoop Dogg and his wife might have a relationship that most people envy now, but things were not always like that between the two. After almost getting divorced, they decided to work things out and have been waxing strong ever since.
Many relationships have their ups and downs. Often, people in a relationship go through difficult times that almost drive them apart. While some may be driven apart by the issues they encounter, others try and find a way around it to make it work.
Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., popularly known as Snoop Dogg, has a beautiful relationship with his wife, Shante Broadus. While their relationship might be one to envy now, the two have had their fair share of marriage troubles. Determined to stick by each other, they have since dealt with the issue.

ROCKY MARRIAGE
Snoop and Shante had been lovers since high school, and when they finished, the two decided to get married right away. In 1997, they both walked down the aisle and started their journey into the institution of marriage.
While it seemed things were going on well, with the two juggling time between their careers and taking care of their three children Corde born in 1994, Cordell, born in 1997 and their only girl Cordi who was born in 1999, the couple soon hit stormy waters.
In 2004, a few years into their marriage, Snoop decided that he had had enough of the married life and wanted to be single again. That year the rapper filed for a divorce from his wife, a decision he now looks back on and regrets cause of the hurt it caused his wife.
During the whole divorce saga, Snoop expressed that the reason was for irreconcilable differences when in fact, he felt terrible with himself for cheating on his wife and did not want to confront her over the situation.
Speaking on the divorce, Shante recalled that Snoop was clueless as to what to do and even asked for her advice. She said:
"He didn't know. You're trying to leave me and you're asking me what you should do? So he didn't know, it was just a lot. And you know i understand."
However, things took a turn for the better when Snoop decided not to go through with the divorce and stopped all proceedings. This act led to the rebirth of their marriage and a renewal of vows.
VOW RENEWAL
Following the divorce debacle, Snoop had an epiphany. He saw the power of how a woman can transform the life of man by observing the life of his Uncle Charli Wilson, a renowned soul musician.
Snoop recalled that Charli Wilson had been in lousy condition with drugs and weeds when the nurse who took care of him agreed to marry him.
Following their marriage, Snoop recalled how Charli's life became better and how, through the help of his wife, he overcame all his addictions.

Seeing such a beautiful marriage, Snoop acknowledged that he wanted to be with Shante and not go through with the divorce. At the time, the two had been separated but were trying to work things out.
Crediting Charli Wilson for his advice on how to make his marriage work again, the father of three decided to renew his vows with Shante, a surprise she had no clue about.
Speaking of the event, Snoop stated that Charli was the one that helped him plan the marriage renewal. In 2008, Snoop and Shante said "I do" again after saying it initially ten years prior to the time.
The surprise event was held at Charli's house and had almost 200 guests in attendance who were all in on it. Shante was the only one who did not know about it, but the surprise saved their marriage.
LIFE AFTER THE VOWS
Interestingly, while Snoop and Shante were going through their divorce, their daughter Cori Broadus was diagnosed with Lupus, and while things were still unstable between the two, Cori's illness was one of the things that allowed them to get close again.
After the vows, Snoop and Shante have been doing well by each other. Being parents to three children and grandparents to three, the duo ensures that they have a good time together enjoying each other's company.

While that period of their life hurt them, Shante acknowledged that forgiveness is one of the things that helped her relationship with Snoop as she was confident that she was not going to remarry or love anyone the way she loved him.
23 years after their initial "I do," Snoop and Shante are growing strong with the rapper acknowledging that he loves his wife a lot more now, and he was never going to get a divorce again as the first time was a silly mistake.
