TMZ: Ja'Net DuBois from 'Good Times' Is the Biological Daughter of Jazz Icon Cab Calloway as per Her Death Certificate
After Ja'Net DuBois' death certificate was released by the LA county this week, it revealed jazz icon Cab Calloway as her biological father.
TMZ obtained the late "Good Times" actress' death certificate and surprisingly discovered that the man listed as her father is Cab Calloway and that her real name is Jeannette T. Calloway-DuBois.
Ja'Net's death certificate reveals she passed away due to cardiac arrest in her sleep.

CONTRADICTING INFORMATION
Jazz icon Cab Calloway was responsible for putting Harlem's Cotton Club on the map back in the 1930s, and it seems Ja'Net inherited her alleged biological father's knack for singing as she famously wrote and sang the theme song for the hit show "The Jeffersons."
Despite this shocking revelation, there seems to be a dispute, as online, bios of Ja'Net list Gordon DuBois as her father, and Lillian Gouedy as her mom. While her mother's name remains the same on the death certificate, Mr. DuBois was surprisingly omitted from the death certificate and changed to Cab Calloway.
A MATTER TO BE LOOKED INTO
It was Ja'Net's daughter who provided the information for the death certificate, and when asked to clarify, she revealed to TMZ that Gordon was married to Lillian and was "instrumental" in raising Ja'Net as a stepfather. While Cab passed away in 1994 and there is no means to verify the claim, the Calloway Estate refused to add any more information.
"While we have great appreciation for Ja'Net DuBois' long and successful career, the Calloway Estate has nothing to add to this single document that has numerous mistakes and no verification."
REMEMBERING JA'NET DUBOIS
Aside from the change in paternity, Ja'Net's death certificate reveals that she passed away due to cardiac arrest in her sleep. She was later on cremated, and some of her ashes were poured out into the sea while the remainder is with her daughter.
DuBois was a great actress known for her roles on "Love of Life," "Golden Boy," and "Good Times." Through the years, she's received many accolades through the years, and some of her most recent roles include "She's Got A Plan" and "GI Joe: Renegades."
