Floyd Mayweather's Son Zion Shares First Post since Mom Josie Harris's Death

Floyd Mayweather's son Zion takes to Instagram to share photos from the past month, including pictures of his mum Josie Harris, who recently passed away.

Zion took to his Instagram, on his birthday, to reflect on the past. His post was a slideshow of pictures, some of which were selfies, and it also included a coronavirus meme and a quarantine meme.

Sandwiched between the lightheartedness were throwback pictures of his mother, Josie Harris, who was found dead outside her home on March 10, 2020. Captioning his photographs, Zion wrote,

"Photo dump from this past month."

Many fans offered their condolences for his loss and wished him a happy birthday. The pictures of Josie featured in the slide, however, caught the attention and affection of many of Zion's followers.

Zion chose in his tribute, a photo of Josie in a simple black number grinning widely at the camera, Harris and her two sons, Zion and his brother, Koraun, and a close-up photo of her.

The 19-year-old's birthday was filled with both a cause to be happy and a cause to be sad, coming just nearly three weeks after his mother's passing.

Three days after Josie's death, Zion's father, Floyd Mayweather, finally opened up about the tragic passing of his ex-wife. Mayweather took to his Instagram to pay tribute to his late ex-girlfriend in a series of Instagram posts. The first picture he posted showed himself and Harris in a warm hug, both dressed in blue. Captioning his post, Floyd wrote:

"My angel."

Mayweather proceeded to post more heartfelt tributes to his deceased ex. Josie and Floyd were together for fifteen years before they split in 2010.

They shared three children, their sons, Koraun and Zion, and their daughter, Jirah. The father and his children were hit by the bittersweetness of Zion's birthday, combined with their loss.

Josie Harris was discovered by one of her children, unresponsive in her car parked in the driveway of her Valencia, California driveway on March 10.

She was pronounced dead on March 11 at the tender age of forty. Details surrounding the tragedy were not released, and as at her son's birthday, authorities were still investigating the cause of her death.

Although Floyd and Harris had parted ways in a rather messy altercation, the forty-three-year-old boxer was devastated by her tragic death and joined their kids in grieving.
