Hager, the daughter of former President George W. Bush, opened up about her mother's influence in her life. She explained that Laura is a grounded woman and a source of serenity to everyone in the family. Jenna
"She has a grace about her. She's unflappable, so even in the midst of trying times, she's been the rock, the steady force that has kept our family calm..."
Jenna Bush further commended her mother on her impressive parenting skills and mentioned that she had taken a page from Laura's book in handling her children.
The 38-year-old mother of three explained that her mother never compared her to her twin sister Barbara and that it taught her to do the same with her kids.
The 73-year-old mother of two remembered her mother's best advice to her, which was to simply look at "the stars and the sky."
It seems the trend of priceless maternal guidance goes across generations as the former First Lady, Bush, fondly recalled her late mother, Jenna Welch.
The 99-year-old woman passed away just two days before Mother's Day, and her daughter, Laura, described her as a "knowledgeable self-taught naturalist."
The 73-year-old mother of two remembered her mother's best advice to her, which was to simply look at "the stars and the sky."
Laura Bush referenced some of her childhood memories where she would lie outdoor with her mom, Jenna, and just look at the stars in the sky.
Jenna Bush Hager paid tribute to her late grandmother, whom she was named after. She expressed her sadness at the news of her grandmother's death in a social media post. She wrote,
"How lucky I was to be named after a woman who taught me how to slow down and appreciate every bird and every plant in West Texas."
Hager went on to recount memories of grandma Jenna reading her poetry and teaching her about the constellations in the sky. She added that she hoped the 99-year-old is reunited with her husband, who passed away 25 years earlier.
