According to Today, the 55-year-old, who is also an ordained minister, announced that she made the dreams of the couple come true when she pronounced them as husband and wife.

[Hoda Kotb] got engaged to her 61-year-old beau during a vacation in Mexico, back in November 2019.

The moment occurred during a surprise wedding on a Zoom call which was set up by the groom and Kira Sullivan, who was Melanie's maid of honor.

At the beginning of the call, Melanie assumed that she and her man were having a regular call with the maid of honor who wanted to toast to what would have been the pair's first weekend as a married couple.

The pair had initially planned to get married on April 18, wedding in Phoenix, but they canceled that plan due to the COVID-19 crisis.

It soon became clear to the bride that something was up when her maid of honor disclosed that many of the couple's family members, along with their pastor, were also on the call.

What Melanie didn't know was that Kira had also arranged for a special guest, who turned out to be Hoda, to join the call just as the pastor was getting ready to marry the couple. Speaking to a shocked Melanie, Hoda said:

"I don't know if you know this, but I'm ordained. So I wanted to help you out."

After the bride's exclamation of how "amazing" it was, Hoda proceeded to pronounce her and her man husband and wife. However, it wasn't until the couple's first dance that the TV personality became overwhelmed with tears.

As it turned out, that wouldn't be the first time that Hoda would become emotional as Today previously reported that she started to break down in tears as she rounded off an interview with New Orleans Saints quarterback, Drew Brees.

The sweet moment came nearly a month after Hoda revealed that she had hopes that she would have "just one beautiful moment" at her upcoming nuptials with fiancé, Joel Schiffman.
