Pregnant Katy Perry Gets Candid about Looking Forward to When She Can Drink Again

Katy Perry is currently pregnant with her and Orlando Bloom's first kid together. The acclaimed singer recently said that she is extremely excited when she's able to drink again.

While hosting a Facebook Live event for her legion of fans ahead of the first at-home episode of "American Idol," Perry, 35, talked about her pregnancy.

"I'm not complaining, but I can't drink, because I'm pregnant," she said. "Some of you already have a cocktail getting ready or you have your favorite IPA."

"I mean, honestly, just Bud Light with a little lime, I'm very excited for the future when that can happen," Perry continued. "Which will be years, probably."

As reported by PEOPLE, Perry uncovered in a recent interview that she had intended on playing off of the 2020 Met Gala to dress up her baby bump before the occasion was deferred indefinitely because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On March 5, the "Dark Horse" singer first shared the news that she's pregnant through the music video for her recent single "Never Worn White." In the video, Perry can be seen cradling her baby belly.

She proceeded to reveal that she and Bloom, 43, were expecting a daughter on April 3. Perry shared a photograph of the actor covered in pink cream at the time. In the caption, she wrote that it's a girl.

A month ago, Perry called in to "Live with Kelly and Ryan" along with Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, her fellow "American Idol" judges, as reported by PEOPLE.

During the interview, Perry revealed that she had a recent doctor's appointment wherein she discovered her child had already taken on some of her mother's character.

According to the singer, she had an ultrasound, and her baby was moving around. She added that she actually has a video of the unborn child giving her the middle finger.

While this will be the first child of Perry, Bloom shares son, Flynn, with his ex Miranda Kerr. The "California Gurls" singer said that her pregnancy was not an accident.

Perry clarified that she's been attempting to make this space in her own life where she's not tiring herself too rough and making space for something new to pop in like this.

Meanwhile, Perry and Bloom delayed their wedding ceremony as a result of fears around the novel coronavirus pandemic. On Valentine's Day 2019, the couple got engaged, and their big day was supposedly set for early summer in Japan.
