Music executive Lenny Santiago is widely known for his ability to manage artists and spot musical talents. But he also spotted and got engaged to the beautiful TV host Adrienne Bailon. The TV personality later called off the engagement, and both have since moved on with their lives.
Lenny Santiago, who is popularly known as Lenny S., has been a force in the music industry for over two decades. He has also been integral to the success of Roc Nation, an entertainment company which was founded by legendary rapper Jay Z.
The talented artist manager finds his place away from the spotlight and has worked with Jay Z for more than 20 years, and together they built Roc Nation from a New York-based company into a $75 million empire.
LENNY SANTIAGO'S RISE IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY
Lenny has always had a love for music and Hip Hop, even as a young boy growing up in the Bronx NY. The 49-year-old music exec's love for Hip Hop, helped him to land his first significant job working with the Notorious BIG led "Bad Boy Records."
At this time," Bad Boy Records" was at its peak, with Notorious BIG gaining widespread recognition. Lenny S., as he is popularly known, decided to leave the label in 1995 to work with Jay Z, who he believed would rise to the summit of the entertainment industry.
In 2016, during an interview with VIBE, the music mogul revealed that his best business decision was leaving "Bad Boy Records" to work with the newly established Roc-A-Fella despite the pushback from friends and family because he believed in Jay-Z's vision. Lenny told VIBE:
"I didn't know he was gonna be the biggest mogul in the hip hop or entertainment business...But I definitely saw the vision that most people didn't..."
Today, Lenny serves as the Senior Vice President of A&R at Roc Nation. Lenny Santiago's Roc Nation role sees him get to sign and work with artists like DJ Khaled, Justine Skye, and Vic Mensa. He currently manages the enigmatic DJ Khaled and evergreen Fabolous.
LENNY SANTIAGO'S PERSONAL LIFE
The entertainment mogul is known to prefer staying behind the scenes, as he would rather leave the spotlight for his artists. But Lenny grabbed media attention when he proposed to "The Real" co-host Adrienne Bailon in February 2015.
The pair had been dating since 2009, and the music mogul thought it was time to take his relationship with the TV personality to the next level.
Adrienne shared the news with her co-hosts, during one of the February episodes of "The Real." While holding up her left hand to show off her massive diamond ring, the happy talk show broke the news much to the delight of her co-hosts who went on to congratulate her.
Just as fans began to anticipate another big celebrity wedding, Adrienne had other plans when she shockingly called off her engagement to Lenny barely seven months after he popped the question.
During an episode of "The Real," Adrienne broke the news for the first time, to fans who had been asking why she wasn't wearing her engagement ring. In her words:
"...I went on my little Eat Pray Love journey, and it was a time for me to come to terms with my own truth and my honesty, and I am not engaged anymore, and we're in a good place."
