Earlier in February, Jenna Bush Hager revealed that she had proposed to her husband, Henry Hager, five years before they eventually got engaged.

Bush explained that she asked the question barely three months after they started dating. According to her, Hager only smiled in response while saying "I'm crazy about you, but you're young.'"

Jenna met her husband when a mutual friend invited Henry to Jenna's house to watch a football game. This was during her father, President W Bush's re-election campaign in 2004.

At that time, Hager worked on President Bush's re-election campaign team, and by the time the elections came, Henry and Jenna were friends. A source said:

Asides getting married to the former President's daughter, Hager also comes from a politically inclined family. His father, John H.Hager, once served as the former lieutenant governor of Virginia.

He had also served as a former Assistant Secretary of the Department of Education's Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Services.

Jenna and Hager tied the knot at the Bush's private ranch in Texas on May 30, 2008, which doubled as Henry's 30th birthday.

After dating for a few years, Henry was ready to get married to his girlfriend, so he sought out permission from President Bush before he popped the big question.

In a report by "Good Housekeeping," the former President gave his consent and support immediately he was asked. President Bush said:

"So the guy comes to see me, and he says, 'I want to marry your daughter,' I said, Done deal."

Jenna and Hager tied the knot at the Bush's private ranch in Texas on May 30, 2008, which doubled as Henry's 30th birthday.

The couple welcomed their first daughter, Margaret Laura "Mila" Hager in 2013, while their second daughter, Poppy Louise Hager was born in 2015. Henry and Jenna's first son, Henry Harold "Hal" Hager, was welcomed to the world last year.

While Bush works as a co-host on "Today," Hager currently serves as the managing director at "Waterous Energy Fund" and is also a member of the Board of Directors for the "George W. Bush Presidential Center."
