With salons being closed, Jenna Bush Hager, who needed a little hair intervention, took matters into her own hands and did a DIY root touch up live on her show, with the help of her husband and celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton. Walking her through the process, Chris said:

"First, we're going to look at the powder option. So you want to get your little brush. Load up the color on the brush. With these powders, you just want to use quite a lot of product."

Jenna appeared on the show via video call, as she had been doing since the show continued during the quarantine. She consulted Appleton to help with her bad hair situation.

Chris then walked her through the process via video call and advised that it was best to use a perfect temporary fix for her hair, which would be better than giving herself a bad dye job.

When she was having a hard time holding down her hair while coloring, she said she would have her assistant, who also turned out to be her husband, Henry, help hold her locks down. Like a proper assistant, Henry did as he was told, and Jenna's roots came out with a nicely done color.

Jenna's co-host, Hoda, already gave her a temporary hair fix.

On the episode before Chris' appearance on the segment, the show's second co-host, Hoda Kotb, revealed what she did to keep her hair looking good in the era of quarantine.

Hoda shared that she had turned to a hair roots color spray from the brand Oribe. Showing viewers how she applied the product, Kotb leaned into the camera with the slim canister in her hand and said:

"It's awesome. You spray it right into the part. You just shake it, spray it, and that's it. It looks good, and it covers it up."

The two methods given to Hager would ensure that she no longer had to worry about a bad hair day, especially when she had to have serious work chats in the occasional Zoom meeting.

The mom of three was not the only one missing her hairstylist and taking hair matters into her own hands. Her "Today" colleague, Carson Daly, took to Instagram to show how he had been getting ready to appear on television every morning.

With the help of some make-up tools and tips that his make-up artist sent to him, Daly could then help himself look much less tired and pale while working on Live Television.

Many other celebrities decided that they needed to touch up their hair too with either a new haircut or an exciting color. "Lizzy McGuire" star Hilary Duff opted for an electrifying blue color for her hair with the help of her husband, Matthew Koma.

Taraji P. Henson and Jennifer Love Hewitt also joined the celebrity DIY train. Jenna and her fellow celebrities have shown their fans that when their hair situations get tough, they have a few tricks up their sleeves.
