Kelly Clarkson was close to tears after an emotional performance by Megan Danielle on "The Voice." The "American Idol" alum could hardly hide her love for her favorite contestant.

In a video on NBC's official Instagram page, the 17-year-old contestant gave a powerful rendition of "What Hurts the Most" by Rascal Flatts. Wearing a pretty black dress, Meghan confidently sang the song, after which Kelly loudly cheered her on.
When host Carson Daly asked Kelly to share her thoughts on the performance, the "American Idol" alum confessed that she was close to tears. She further said to Megan:
"I just thank you for being in my presence and just singing and reminding me of why I love to sing. And that's a very powerful gift you got the girl."
Although the show, which was held on Monday, saw amazing performances from other contestants, it was Danielle that got fans talking.
One fan wrote: "Literally Speechless," while another gushed: "?? Oh my Goodness Meghan!!! You're Amazing, Sis!! Your voice is so??." Many other fans showed support for the young singer.
Danielle was raised by a single mom after her parents got a divorce when she was only seven-years old.
It comes as no surprise that Kelly has a soft spot for Danielle. With the talk show host being the only coach to turn around during the teenage singer's blind audition, it is evident that her love was from the very beginning.
After the Monday night performances, Clarkson admitted that she had indeed been a fan of Megan. She said:
"I've always loved Megan since the blinds."
Kelly's love was, however, not enough to keep her favorite contestant in the competition. By the end of the semi-finals on Monday, Megan Danielle was eliminated from the show.
Danielle was raised by a single mom after her parents got a divorce when she was only seven-years old. In a bid to take care of Megan and her three siblings, their mother worked as a waitress, and during those difficult times, young Danielle found solace in music.
When Megan is not singing, she works as a waitress, dishwasher, and cashier at a restaurant managed by her mom. With the income from her jobs, the young girl supports her mother and just recently got herself a car.
