Magic Johnson's Wife Cookie Congratulates 2020 Graduates with Photo from Her Graduation

Basketball legend, Magic Johnson's wife shared a throwback picture from her graduation day as she penned an inspiring message to the graduating classes of 2020

Magic Johnson and wife, Cookie, have been married for 28 years; according to Essence on their anniversary in 2019, he called their union the best decision he ever made.

Over the years, Magic has always gushed over her commitment to philanthropy as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Magic Johnson Foundation and her entrepreneurship with her denim line called "CJ by Cookie Johnson."

Recently, Cookie used her success story to help inspire the 2020 graduating classes with a throwback picture of herself on her graduation day. As she congratulated students around the world, in a heartfelt message, she wrote:

"Although your graduation may not be what you envisioned it doesn't erase your achievement, use your faith, [and] drive to achieve more!!"

It is reported, Cookie graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Retailing of Clothing and Textiles from Michigan State University.

Her qualifications gave her the tools to start her denim line and work in the retail industry. One fan praised her supportive message and gushed, "educated girls rock."

Beyoncé's mother, Tina Lawson, added, "soo cute Cookie," she ended it with heart and praying hands emojis. Another fan said, "yay!!! That is so beautiful! Congratulations 2020 grads!!!"

Some of her followers made a note of her Michigan University background. One fan referred to their familiarity with her apartment, saying, "Spartan Village...Go Green!!" Another fan joined in praising her connection to the University.

Cookie's inspiring words come from her flair for writing. In 2016, she wrote a New York Times Best Selling memoir titled, "Believing in Magic, her story about love, overcoming adversity, and keeping the faith."

The book gave a very candid exploration into her marriage, motherhood, her faith, and Magic's HIV diagnosis in the early 1990s.

Cookie's faith plays a significant role in her life; she often uses her Instagram page to share life lessons and messages of encouragement.

She also revealed that her faith was what helped her family get through the news of her husband's HIV diagnosis at the height of his career.
