DJ Khaled proudly showed off his Grammy Award as he posed with his son eldest son, Asahd, while holding the newly unwrapped award and gushed over him being his motivation
DJ Khaled recently unveiled his Grammy Award. In a video posted on Instagram, he admitted that he had received the package containing his award months ago, but he had been waiting for the right moment to open it.
He said that the moment arose when he got word that his album "Father of Asahd" went platinum and prompted him to celebrate.
As he opened the box to unwrap his first Grammy Award, Khaled, thanked his fans for their support andadmitted
, "I worked my whole life for this. I talk this into existence…This is for Nipsey Hussle; this is for Hip Hop."
While relishing in his latest accomplishment, he also shared that he is the only Hip Hop artist in the past four years to have three consecutive albums go platinum.
Khaled's words as he unwrapped his award were similar to his sentiments at the 2019 Grammy Awards when he took the stage for his acceptance speech. At the time, he also made a special shout out to his family. He said:
"I just had a new baby boy a week ago. It means 'the world' in Arabic. And I also want to big up my other son, Asahd."
Khaled along with John Legend and the late Nipsey Hussle had won Best Rap/Sung Performance for their song "Higher, " in 2019.
Khaled took his celebration further and popped opened a few bottles of the luxurious Ace of Spades and poured the champagne onto his award.
He posed in his backyard with a large silver framed plaque for his certified platinum album status for "Father of Asahd," it had a photo of him, and Asahd printed on the front.
Khaled gave credit on the album to Asahd by making him one of the executive producers. He explained that he gets a lot of inspiration from his son, who often joins him in the studio.
In his post about opening his Grammy Award, Khaled also revealed that he has another album on the way and has already completed the first song.
