While Gabby might feel unfulfilled about not finding any plantains at the store, she feels different about her reported one-year relationship with her boyfriend, Brandon Frankel.

It would be recalled that in commemoration of their 8-month anniversary, he took to Instagram to post a tribute to his girlfriend to celebrate the New Year.

According to Daily Mail, the post was a slideshow of never before seen photos of the couple, alongside an adorable caption where Frankel praised his "ball of sunshine."

Daily Mail adds that the movie star took to the comment section to acknowledge her beau. She said: "I'm excited for all the matching hoodies, Mickey/Minnie outfits to Disneyland, and your favorite shirts that somehow become MY favorite shirts."

Matching outfits seem to be a thing for the couple as one of the photos in the post shows them wearing King and Queen inscribed sweatshirts. With a fantastic career and a budding relationship, Sidibe's journey has not been without bumps.

The Blast recalls that the actress faced a lot of bullying because of her weight after her first major role in the 2009 movie adaptation of the novel "Push" by Sapphire, titled "Precious" after Gabby's character.

In an interview following the debut of the film, the actress, according to Oprah TV, admitted that although she didn't see herself in Precious, she drew inspiration from family and friends that lived a life similar to Precious'.

Her performance earned her nomination for several awards, even though Blast maintains that the period was a tough time for her. However, the 37-year-old sternly shut down criticism about her weight after her first sex scene on Empire.

As seen on Forbes, the musical drama series also created an opportunity for the movie star to make her television directorial debut.
