LeBron James breaks his silence on the death of George Floyd as he shared a photo in support of Colin Kaepernick taking a knee during a football game.
The tragic death of George Floyd, who was held down by a Minneapolis police officer that had his knee against his neck until he couldn't breathe, has gotten reactions from celebrities across the country.
NBA superstar, LeBron James shared his outrage and posted a photo of the incident next to an image of former NFL player Colin Kaepernick. He wrote, "do you understand NOW!!??!!?? Or is it still blurred to you??"
The photo he posted was the infamous pose from when Kaepernick still played for the San Francisco 49ers and took a knee during the national anthem to raise awareness for racial injustice and police brutality.
One fan praised James for his stance, saying, "I'm so happy this generation has a great player in Lebron that is not afraid to speak up for our people in this white man's world."
James' post has received over 4.6 million likes on Instagram. A fan commented, "facts! Everybody must realize it now! Thanks for speaking up, King."
A day later, James continued to share his frustration and posted a photo of himself wearing a shirt that had the words "I can't breathe," written across the front.
Many people railed around him, they replied with a muscle emoji in support of his statement. R&B singer Jacequees said, "you standing up bro. That's real."
Another fan expressed their gratitude and said, "thank you for using your voice." Oscar-winner Halle Berry shared her disbelief over Floyd's death.

, Floyd's family paid tribute to him as they shared photos and stories about the kind of man he was. His brother, Philonise Floyd, revealed:
"Knowing my brother is to love my brother. He's a gentle giant, he don't hurt anybody."
According to CBS Minnesota, the family are still coming to grips with the tragedy, and are struggling to comprehend the police officer's actions.
They also shared their surprise with the large number of people protesting. It was revealed that they have started a GoFundMe for "financial support or messages of encouragement."
