Why Nick Cannon's Kids Fear Police and What He Does to Teach Them to Be Fearless
Nick Cannon’s nine-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, are well-aware of police brutality towards colored men and “fear” the authorities.
George Floyd’s recent death in the hands of a white cop has caused rage from people around the world, moving many to talk about racism.
It is no secret that black men are treated differently from white men by many people, including cops in America.

Parents of color fear for their children’s lives, while some kids, young as they are, already fear the cops themselves.
CANNON TALKS ABOUT HIS KIDS FEARING COPS
Nick Cannon’s nine-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, are among those who are already aware of police brutality towards people of color.
“My children fear the police,” the singer said. “I try to teach fearlessness. But when they see the energy of law enforcement [it’s like], ‘Uh oh, here comes the police.’”
The “Masked Singer” host is also a father to three-year-old son Golden, who is also taught about how to face cops during a certain situation. Although teaching kids about such is painful, Canon sees it as what could be a means to survive.
Fearing the authorities was something Cannon felt in his younger years, together with his family. The big possibility of being treated unfairly and brutally became something embedded in their culture.
Despite their choice to go separate ways, the former couple remains to be friends and co-parents their two kids.
CHANGING THE SYSTEM
Cannon is among the many celebrities who are fighting for change and justice towards black men and women.

Others include Kim Kardashian West, Keshia Pulliam, and Kevin Hart, who spoke as parents concerned for the future of their children.
“Law enforcement should be from the community,” the father-of-three added. “I’m ready to put my life on the line for this because there’s nothing more important to my community than to evoke change in a real way.”
In the interview, Cannon spoke of the disgust he felt towards the inhumane murder of Floyd, which may happen to any black person if not given attention.

The former “America’s Got Talent” host tied the knot with the Grammy Award-winning artist in 2008 and divorced from her in 2016.
He later admitted that he didn’t “believe in marriage anymore” following his split from Caret and hasn’t gotten the hang of relationships.
