Inside Mekhi Phifer and Reshelet's Romantic Relationship and Marriage of 7 Years

The “ER” actor is committed to his wife as much as he is into his career. The couple has been married for 7 years and, when they are together, they still look as if they were still newly wedded.

Mekhi Phifer is so in love with his wife he does not get tired of sharing pictures of them together all over his Instagram account. They celebrate their anniversary on March 30th, and every year that date he has posted a lovely photo of their wedding day.

As we can see in those images, the couple looked very happy posing on that special day for their memories. The last march, Phifer posted a funny photo of them during a dancing moment at their wedding party. He captioned the image:

“7 years ago!! Still staying strong and focused to this day and beyond. Love you baby!!...”

THE CEREMONY

The “8 Mile” star, Mehki Phifer, and his wife, Reshelet Barnes got married on March 2013, in Beverly Hills, in an intimate and short ceremony in front of nearly 100 family members and friends.

The actor wore a white ivory suit and entered the ceremony to Stevie Wonder‘s song, “Ribbon in the Sky.” Reshelet was also dressed in ivory, with a gorgeous mermaid strapless gown. One of Mehki’s son walked down the aisle with a chihuahua, the couple’s dog.

A witness from the ceremony said in an interview that when the first notes of “Here Comes the Bride” were heard, and Barnes made her entrance, the actor was absolutely overwhelmed by the moment. Apparently, she took his breath away and he had to wipe tears from his eyes for a while.

These days, the couple remains happily married and they celebrate their special occasion with much joy. They also are usually seen together at many public events Phifer is invited to.

THE ACTOR

Born in 1974, Phifer is best known for portraying Dr. Greg Pratt on NBC's drama “ER”, and for co-starring the film “8 Mile” opposite to rapper Eminem. His Hollywood acting career started off after being cast for the leading role of Spike Lee's “Clockers”, in 1995.

Throughout his career, he has received critical acclaim for many roles in films and TV productions. He earned two NAACP Image Award Nominations and was honored by the American Black Film Festival, with a "Rising Star" Award.

The actor, who has also worked in music as a rapper, is the father of two sons. Omikaye is his first son, from his first marriage to Malinda Williams; and Mekhi Jr., his second son shared with ex-girlfriend, Oni Souratha.
