'Good Times' Actor John Amos' Only Daughter Shannon Takes Part in #BlackLivesMatter Protests
Shannon Amos took it to the streets to take part in Black Lives Matter protests, allowing herself to step out of her comfort zone.
John Amos' only daughter Shannon decided to take part in a Black Lives Matter protest in Los Angeles, where she wore a mask that read "I CAN'T BREATHE." She wrote a lengthy caption to accompany her picture, which shows her standing in front of a barrier with police officers on the other side.
"The only way we can fully live, is if we grow. The only way we can grow is if we change. The only way we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed."
JOINING THE CAUSE
Shannon joins the growing list of public figures who have stepped out of their comfort zones to join rallies and protests, realizing that sometimes, social media is not enough. Instead, heading out and letting their voices be heard with hundreds of thousands of others is the way to go at this point in time.
" And the only way that we can become exposed is if we step out of our comfort zones and throw ourselves into the open with an open heart! Do it! Throw yourself in!"
SHANNON'S HOLLYWOOD CAREER
While her father John Amos is responsible for hits like "Roots" and "Good Times," Shannon has also been making a name for herself by becoming a producer. She's worked for BET Networks in Washington, D.C., before moving to Los Angeles to produce music videos for hit hip-hop and R&B artists.
It is an ode to what her father used to fight for in his prime, particularly being an inspirational figure for the Black community.
FOLLOWING HER DAD'S FOOTSTEPS
Through the years, she's worked with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and many more. She went on to work with Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, before finally settling as a producer who creates digital and TV content for various clients as well as managing several YouTube vloggers.
