'Good Witch' — What to Know about the Beloved Hallmark Show's Future

Hallmark's "Good Witch" is giving the network top ratings and has a strong fan base. Unfortunately, that doesn't guarantee the show will return. Here's what we know.

" is currently on air with season six, so fans aren't missing out on their favorite show right now. However, they're still wondering about the future of the series.

This year, the renewal of almost all shows is being questioned due to the coronavirus pandemic. While not much has been revealed as yet, there are a few things we can expect.

SEASON 7 HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED

So far, neither the network nor the cast has confirmed that the show will be renewed for another season. If ratings are anything to go by, though, there's a good chance we'll get a season seven.

According to Good Housekeeping, the season six premiere clocked in at 2.9 million views, boosting Hallmark's overall rating in the category of households with women over 18.

Of course, good ratings don't always lead to a renewal. Hallmark's "When Calls the Heart" will give viewers an eighth season. However, the show waited until the season finale to announce it. Maybe they'll do the same for "Good Witch."

THE ANNUAL "GOOD WITCH" HALLOWEEN SPECIAL

As fans hope for a new season, they can take comfort in the Halloween special coming out this year — if the health crisis doesn't delay filming, that is.

"Good Witch" star Catherine Bell revealed that the show was doing a special during an interview with Media Village. "Those first two episodes air as the movie," she explained.

Writers are currently working on the film, said Bell, who plays Cassie Nightingale on the show. She expressed hope that the cast would return to Toronto in due course.

WHERE YOU CAN WATCH YOUR FAVORITE CAST

Since we can't say much about a definite renewal, we also can't speak to any cast changes. We're hoping to see Bell, James Denton, Catherine Disher, Sarah Power, Kylee Evans, and Katherine Barrell all return.

When season six ends, fans may have an urge to see more of their favorite characters. Marc Bendavid, Scott Cavelheiro, Peter MacNeill, Rhys Matthew Bond, and Bailee Madison should also come back.

They can stream old seasons on Netflix and watch "Good Witch" movies online on Hallmark Movies Now. They might also enjoy learning about some of the cast members outside of their tv life.
