Jamie Wood spoke candidly about his experience growing up as a son of The Rolling Stones member, Ronnie Wood. It was not an easy childhood.
The rock-star world influenced Jamie from a young age. At 14 years old, he started taking drugs, as reported by Daily Mail.
Jamie, 45, revealed that he used heroin, cocaine, and cannabis. He recalled: "Drugs were normal in my family. It was part and parcel of my upbringing."
LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON
His vices eventually took a toll on his health. In October 2017, at the age of 42, he suffered a heart attack that saw him undergo emergency surgery.
Two stents had to be inserted into his heart. He was discharged from the hospital after five days. Among others, he has resolved to drop his habit of excessive smoking.
This is also the same habit that led to his father, Ronnie, to develop lung cancer. The legendary rock musician had part of his lung removed to survive cancer, as reported by Fox News.
Ronnie, who turned 73 on June 1, 1947, has been maintaining a healthier lifestyle. He is raising four-year-old twins, Alice and Gracie, with his third wife, Sally Humphreys, as reported by Mirror.
Jamie hopes that his father's young children with Humphreys, who is 30 years Ronnie's junior, will not go through the same childhood experience he had. "I'm sure he will do a better job this time around," Jamie said of his father.
Ronnie was born Ronald David Wood on June 1, 1947, in Hillingdon, Middlesex, England.
HALL OF FAMER
Ronnie has been married to Humphreys, a theater producer, since December 21, 2012, as stated in his IMDb biography. His past wives were Jo Wood and Krissy Findlay.
As a member of The Rolling Stones, Ronnie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989, as he was a guitarist with the iconic band.
Ronnie was born Ronald David Wood on June 1, 1947, in Hillingdon, Middlesex, England. Aside from The Rolling Stones, he was also a member of Faces.
Ronnie appears to have come a long way since his hard-partying days that had an adverse impact on his son, Jamie. The latter recalled that growing up, their house would be filled with the smell of cannabis.
Humphreys has been sharing photos of her husband and their twins on social media. In one photo, the legendary musician is seen bonding with their adorable twins.
