KOTB AND GUTHRIE'S POSTS
Savannah Guthrie shared a throwback photo of herself as a young girl while her dad stood smiling in a suit. The late patriarch had one hand over his mini-me while Guthrie had the same smile like the one on his face. Her caption read along with a heart emoji:
"Missing you always and ever."
Hoda Kotb also shared some throwback photos of her parents while she honored her dad. The two-photo post showed Kotb's parents in her hay days as they were photographed spending quality time together. Kotb wrote in her caption: "...Here's to the dads in heaven."
FANS COULD RELATE
Many followers trooped to the comments where they joined both stars in celebrating. Some fans could, however, relate to losing a dad and living with the memories. Someone wrote on Hoda's timeline: "Yes, missing mine every day but in my heart every day."
So far, Kotb's fans are anticipating wedding bells.
Some others agreed with the "Today" co-host as they thanked her for putting up the thoughtful post. On Guthrie's page, some fans shared their grief about their late dads while others wished the TV host well and agreed she was her dad's twinnie.
FOND MEMORIES FROM THE "TODAY" STARS
A few days before Father's Day, Hoda Kotb opened up to Jenna Bush Hager on the "Today" show, where she affectionately shared tidbits about growing up with her dad. Kotb mentioned that she was in awe, and as a child, she thought he was the "vice-president."
Guthrie's dad had died when she was 16-years old, after suffering a heart attack. Once writing about him, the "Today" co-host referred to his personality as "lightning up the room."
UPDATES ON HODA AND SAVANNAH
So far, Kotb's fans are anticipating wedding bells, following her last November news about getting married.
She, however, revealed to Ellen DeGeneres that they might just be postponing the ceremony. This was so because she planned a destination wedding, and the COVID-19 crisis stood in the way.
In a recent episode of "The Ellen Show," Savannah Guthrie stated that she might just need to undergo cataract surgery. This comes after her retinal correction, which had to be done after her little son, by accident, poked her in the eye with a toy.
