Cynthia Bailey Speaks on Daughter Noelle Getting Hate for Coming Out as Gay
Cynthia Bailey recalled that her daughter, Noelle Robinson had to get off social media to fend off haters after coming out as gay.
One of Cynthia Bailey’s proudest moments on “Real Housewives of Atlanta” was the episode where her daughter, Noelle Robinson opened up about being gay.
Over a year later, Bailey reveals that as much as that episode drew a lot of support for Robinson, she also received tons of hate.

Bailey was on a live chat with Bravo’s Justin Sylvester when she spoke about that chapter of her daughter’s life when she was forced to veer away from social media to avoid all the hate spewed her way. According to the protective mom,
“People were trolling her...saying you’re going to hell...bashing her.”
Robinson is currently in a relationship with Alexis Powell who’s often featured on her Instagram.
Bailey added that even when Robinson thought she was ready to face the consequences of coming out, she didn’t know how to deal with it when it happened. Even Bailey had no inkling about how to help her. All she could do was tell her daughter not to worry.
Bailey recalled Robinson feeling like her world was turned upside down when she was forced to lay off social media. “It’s really heartbreaking,” the reality star said of watching her daughter suffer.
This is also why the 53-year-old housewife is very vocal about Robinson’s journey. She reasons it’s for other parents to feel more comfortable about their children’s sexual preferences.
“At the end of the day, we have to get to a place where, really, all lives really have to matter, trans, gay, whatever,” she said.
Meanwhile, Bailey believes the COVID-19 pandemic served as a catalyst for change too. She explained, “It sat everybody in the world down and God got everybody’s attention.”
Robinson is currently in a relationship with Alexis Powell who’s often featured on her Instagram. In March, while in quarantine, the couple went public, sharing their Tik Tok videos with the world.
Bailey was very supportive and even sat down with her daughter to learn more about the intimate details of her relationship with Powell.
Moreover, she learned things about her daughter's life that the wouldn't have approved of. This cute Tik Tok encounter between mother and daughter was shared by Robinson on her Instagram.
